South Kitsap County: Location, Location, Location
It has been said that South Kitsap County is a nearby, faraway place.
Near Gig Harbor and Bremerton
It's as close to Gig Harbor to the south, as it is to Bremerton to the north, with Port Orchard in the middle. Yet, many people often overlook this area as a very livable place and often times pass it by on the well-traveled four-lane Highway 16.
Commuter Tales
Some who live here became died-in-the-wool commuters, mostly out of choice rather than surrender. Take the Southworth Ferry. A boon to many because of it's benefits, it navigates Puget Sound carrying passengers to Seattle for work or play, then back home again. Many former Seattleites would rather live in safe South Kitsap, accepting life's slower pace, as opposed to the hubbub found in an urban environment. Nearby, Highway 16 is identified as the main route to malls, dining, recreation, and serves as a commuter artery to Bremerton, Silverdale, Gig Harbor and Tacoma.
As Good As It Gets
In South Kitsap County you'll find as-good-as-it-gets farms (a natural fit with the Kitsap County Fair and Stampede held annually in August near Bremerton), neighborhoods, small communities, and McCormick Woods Golf Course, with its fairway homes. While this place might be described as the best place to be for location, location, location, don't overlook its value, value, value. Check out your potential for living here. Those who do, love it. Perhaps you will, too.
